The disciples approached him and said, “Why do you speak to them in parables?” He said to them in reply, “Because knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been granted to you, but to them it has not been granted. Matthew 13:10-11
He spoke to God’s people using parables. And up to our times, God still speaks to us in parables. Parables which most of the time we do not understand. Like the following,
Your US visa application denied.
Your scholarship slashed.
Your board exam failed.
Your pregnancy ectopic.
Your work supervisor unreasonable.
Your skills unwanted.
Your motive questioned.
Your family in turmoil.
Your health depleting.
Your friendship broken.
Your spiritual growth slow.
These are some of life’s parables. And these are the same life’s questions. We do not comprehend why they happen. We do not see the grand design that comes along with it.
Jesus said mysteries of the kingdom are handed down to the disciples. I have a suggestion to understand your parable. Become a disciple.
Love God with all your heart. Seek Jesus instead of self. Follow Jesus rather than you own course. Know God and make Him known. Please God instead of saying, ” Please God give me this…” Live for God and for others. Seek His pleasure rather than yours.
Become His disciple and understand your parable.
